This CLE program on Name and Gender marker changes is a video replay of the March 18 program entitled, "Making the Legal Transition: the Nuts and Bolts of Name and Gender Marker Change." This program is presented by the Virginia Equality Bar Association as part of the Carrico Center at the University of Richmond School of Law's "Law Over Lunch" series, and features speakers and materials from Whitman-Walker Health and the National Center for Transgender Equality.

The CLE component of the program will begin at 10:30 a.m. and continue until 12:00 p.m. There is no cost to attend, but participants are strongly encouraged to take part in the Richmond Trans Legal Collaborative (clinical program) afterwards to put your skills into practice.

Richmond TLC will run from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. (or 5 p.m., depending on need) as  one of several clinics that will be presented by Fan Free Clinic that day to assist trans* clients in obtaining specific legal, medical, and insurance services.

*1.5 hours of LIVE Virginia MCLE credit is available.

Attorneys are advised that the only legal malpractice insurance applicable to the clinic will be that of the individual participant attorneys.  If you are not sure whether your malpractice insurance covers your participation in pro bono service opportunities, please check with your firm's administrator or insurance carrier.
